Refrigerator TOO cold

I have an ice box in my Hunter Vision 32 that I converted to a refrigerator with a Nova Kool compressor/ plate kit. It has worked great for 2 years. Now it freezes everything in it although I have set it on the lowest setting (1).Anybody have any ideas on what the problem might be ?ThanksRichard Stanley

Reefer too cold

You should check your thermostat first. If it is ok, the problem is that you are just a "little bit" low on refrigerant. When you have just a little shortage of r134a or r12, the evaporator plate will have too much boil area. Freon boils at -33degrees. I know it sounds complicated, but have a qualified tech check your freon levels. The settings on my Adler unit are 6lbs on the low side.Best of luck,Jack

Thanks Jack,I did a little research and discovered that I did NOT install the thermostat properly. I did not conect the "temp guage" wire TO the cold plates.I hope that will do the trick.Richard
