How 'bout a spray can of expanding foam? It won't be structural but it should fill the gap for thermal loss.

If gap not too big, filled it with a ball of butyl tape. Its easy to handle and can be easily pressed in to fill gap.

I just defrosted the refrigerator and found a gap in upper back of the icebox cabinet behind the chill plate. I cannot get to the space to repair it as it's under the storage space above the fridge/icebox space, can only feel it with my fingertips. Any suggestions on how to fill/fix the gap without tearing the cabinet and countertop apart?
