Refrigerator lid falls

When the lid of the refrigerator on a Catalina 320 is open, there is nothing to keep it from falling on the head, arm or fingers of the person reaching into the frig. Just this past weekend, the lid fell on my wife's wrist, severely bruising it, almost breaking it. It also put a nasty bump on my head. Two for two this past weekend. We would like to purchase a locking hinge that would install in the interior of the frig lid or an easy-to-operate catch on the exterior of the lid. Can anyone recommend a product that will work on the 320? A standard chart table locking spring won't work because of the interior shape of the frig lid. External catches are hard to install and use because the surfaces of the frig lid and the bulkhead behind it do not mate well. I have searched the boating catalogs and failed to find an elegant solution. Please let me know if you have one. Thanks.

Falling reefer lid

I'm not familiar with the galley layour of the C32. However, is there a spot above and behind the lid where a length of looped bungee cord could be attached so that it could hold the lid up when necessary? Not so elegant, perhaps, but practical.

Door hook.

Several owners have added a door hook to the inboard cover and hinges to the outboard one. Take a looka the 320 Association site in the tech articles.
