Has anyone added an additional cold plate to their refrigerator and eliminated the crossover fan. My problem is keeping the freezer cold enough and frost free during long voyages. The crossover fan brings too much hot air into the freezer. I have already added seal tight latches to all three doors.

is caused by air leaks. If you put ice cubes in the freezer or freeze ice in open trays, you will have frost on the freezer cold plate. I put all ice cubes in a plastic container with a lid and my ice tray is inside a large baggy. There is still some frost from the outside air, but it is greatly reduced. Try it.
