I am installing a new Adler/Barbour ColdMachine cooling unit & evaporator. It says to lubricate the synthetic seals and threads of the of the couplings with refrigeration oil. Where can I get this oil? Is there a generic type of oil I can use? Thanks.

I did a google search on refrigeration oil. There are many articles on what it is and different brands.

Whatever you decide... don’t use winch pawl grease:biggrin:

  • Refgrigeration system oil is a special type. It is low wax content, a specified viscosity and a few other features. It is for lubricting the compressor internals and becomes vaporized and circulates through the system. You will not be able to purchace such a small amount as you need, but never mind. you can use almost any spray can machine lubricant for threads or mating flange surfaces. the amount is so small that it will have no effect on the system.
