Has anyone installed a battery in the same locker as a refrig unit? Is there any danger in doing this? It will be on a three stage charger by shore power. Any suggested precautions?

I did a simular thing where I installed a 40 amp smart charger in the battery locker. Within 10 months the charger was ruined. The reason, the circulating fan pulled in the air that had some hydrochloric fumes from the battery. Even though you couldn't detect the odor, it was enought to completly rust out the insides of the system It's my believe that this will happen to the refrigerator unit as well. I would look for another place to locate any electronics that has a circulating fan associated with it.
