I am seeking info about the refrig and freezer efficiency in the Passage 42. We are going to cruising for at least 2 years from our home base in Fla to Venezula. We currently have the factory installed Adler/Barner system on our boat. We are looking for input and/or ideas about similiar systems or perhaps Hunter owners who have installed other systems. compressors usually last about 20 years. The control module on our frig gave out last year and it was 13 years old. AB sells replacements for about $150 if I recall. They told me at the time they do not rebuild them. Both reefers use the same module. Terry

More like 10 years or less for controller life
It should be an easy fix but the schematic is not available. I personally have had 3 failures and know of about 6 others. None even close to 20 years old. There is an outfit in Florida who will fix them for $100. There is not part involved which costs much more than 25 cents at Radio Shack. Quite a racket!
