Popcicle Toes

Have an Adler/Barbour Cold Machine (12volt, air-cooled) on a '94 35.5 Hunter. Will the refer work any better with foam water pipe insulation wrapped around the copper tubing that runs from compressor unit to the ice box? Original install had it tie wrapped in a haphazard manner and I'm wondering if it needs insulation on these two pipes or if they should be left bare. Installation is under port setee and is well vented with extra muffin fan.

No, it shouldn't matter.

Insulation is only needed near the box itself. That's where the expansion takes place and heat withdrawn from the box. That bare pipe is removing heat to the condenser so leaving it uncovered helps to get rid of heat.
