I'm looking to install a refridgeration system into my 1973 Pearson 365 icebox and would like to know if anyone has information regarding whether the existing insulation is sufficient and also any advice about the refridgeration system that would benefit me the most. Thanks

John, I found that the stock insulation on my Pearson 37 was insufficient. I added thin, high-density insulation around the two sides I could get to - one of which is right next to the engine compartment. I replaced the PO's Adler-Barbour 12v unit with a Sea Frost unit and have had no problems.

Regarding electric consumption, I have a pair of 130w solar panels. During a 4-day cruise last summer, the panels had no problems keeping the batteries topped up and I didn't need to use the engine to recharge.
