I removed and redid my sole last year. Very pleased with the results, even though I installed everything before the finish cured (takes 4-6 hours to dry enough to handle, but to prevent scuffs wait at least a week at room temp to fully cure enough before you should walk on it with shoes when doing the initial coats) and got a few surface scratches in the finish.
The surface scratches will be very easy to fix, I plan to do that this weekend, and won't take the extended cure time as the wood will not have soaked up all the solvents in the formula like when doing the initial coats, so it won't need that time to slowly release them.
I used Daly's Profin Gloss mixed 1:1 with Daly's Seafin hard drying TeakOil for the first coat, then 3:1 for the 2nd coat, and then straight Profin for the final 2 coats. The surface does not get slippery when wet and retains the beautiful wood grain texture as it is a very thin mixture that soaks into the wood, instead of sitting only on top like traditional varnish products. You apply the product much like oil. You brush on, let sit and soak in for 10 minutes, then wipe off excess with a towel. Don't be confused, it IS a type of varnish finish
To fix the surface scratches I just need to put some profin on a rag and rub it in to fill the scuffs, won't take more than 5 minutes. I'm not sure, but this may turn out to be a regular maintenance procedure done once a year (or twice for if you in warmer climates that can use the boat year round) because the finish is such a thin layer. If you track dirt in, and walk on it, that dirt will eventually wear down the surface. But as easy as it is to restore to a new shine, 5-10 minutes a year of maintenance for your cabin sole isn't a bad deal for a nice natural looking finish.
The picture is from right after installation, and after a season of abuse, and whenever I clean it up, it still looks just as good (minus the scuffs that happened the first week it was installed)
Some West Marine stores stock the seafin teak oil, but all can get it from the warehouse. my local store actually did a custom order from Dalys for the Profin for me, didn't charge me any shipping and it was $15/qt (slightly cheaper than on the website)
BTW, this was the OEM product used by Hunter on my boat, not an aftermarket product.
