Scrub then epoxy
I am in the process of refinishing the forward hatch on my OD22. It sounds like they are quite similar. There is a post in the archives about someone scrubbing the translucent bit with some warm water and a solution of detergent (maybe some bleach?). The owner said that it brought it back to life. What I've done is sand the entire surface with 80 grit, then 120 grit and painted unthickened ("neat") epoxy on it with a disposable chip brush. It will seal and protect the translucent bit, but getting it to look perfect will be a challenge. I say this b/c on my hatch the translucent part is a brown color that I could not replicate with resin. My West System resin dries a slightly yellow/brown color, but not as dark. Good luck, maybe take some pics and post them?JoshS/V Cassidy
