Not sure if I have my reefing lines set up right. Does someone have some pics?

Hope this helps

Ric - what boat do you have? - The general idea is the same for most but there are some small differences such as where cleats etc are located, which way the lines run etc etc. I was going to attach a page I scanned From the CoastGuard Fundamentals of Sailing which describes the basic principle BUT the file is greater than the 80K allowed. I have some other info - e-mail me and I will send direct to you. jforster@ti.com You can check out the following: http://www.sailmaker.com/articles/reefing.htm Also check out the following which has some good pictures http://www.sailingusa.info/weather_and_reefing.htm Remember to practise this and always reef early ... its easier to shake out a reef than to put one in when things get difficult Good luck - cheers James

Thanks Jim

Thanks Jim, but still not sure. I have an O'Day 25 with two reefing points and one line. No horn. Just not sure where the line runs. Ric

rough idea ... some of the jiffy reefing lines run

up to a block at the reef point at the luff ... then down to a block on the boom ... then back to the end of the boom ... then up to the leach reef point and then maybe back to the boom. So when you pull on the line it brings down both reef points to the boom ... and if you have two reef points for reef 1 and reef 2 you need to use two reef lines ... Vic "Seven"
