Yup, but be careful...
CM,I have the 810 LD (line drive) furler with the continuous loop for a furling line. You can reef the genoa but you have to be careful in 2 ways:1. Reef with the sheets loose. You can't reef while the sail is under load.2. Tie the reef line TIGHT when you tie it off after an adjustment. I mean as tight as possible, tying both lengths of the line off to the same cleat. If the line is even a little loose, the sail will slip in a puff or when you hit some chop.A more modern drum upgrade is available for the 810LD from a company called Pompanette (see related link below) for about $525 but I haven't felt the need. I've had my 150% rolled up to be a 100% in about 35 knots of wind in 8' seas for 11 hours on a reach from Provincetown to Boston and it didn't slip once. If you're new to the design, give it a season & see if you get used to it. When I bought my boat it was one of the first things I thought I'd want to upgrade and after 4 years it's not even on my wish list anymore.Good Luck,Allen Schweitzers/v FalstaffC-30 Hull #632
