Reef Height
Steve, The reef height on the OEM 26X Main is set at about 25% of the luff. You are correct in thinking that it is a deep one. 25% is typically where a second reef is located. Macgregor feels that this is a good position for the single reef since it significantly reduces the sail area and the boat does not have a lot of righting moment. I have made some sails for this boat that have an intermediate reef. If you think you would like a shorter reef you could have a local sailmaker install one onto the sail for you.
