Reefing points on O'day daysailer

Hi there,
I currently have jiffy reefing set up just below the first batten on the mainsail but want to add another set of reef points for safety. Can anyone suggest the best location/ measurements for the second reef point. Thanks.

I don't know exactly, I only have one set of reefpoints in my sail (added about 16 years ago by a local sailmaker) so my only though is to locate the second reef about the same distance above the first set as that first set is above the foot.

my oday 28 has 2 reefing points set. I've not tried them yet as I go the boat recently. I notice my boat has no reefing lines in each reef point. What size line is recommended and how long should each one be? My main is loose-footed so would benefit from a lazy jack rig to keep the sail within reach when lowered. anyone have advice on setting that up?
