SL Reefing
I have a Hunter 336 that came with single line reefing. I think the idea is good, however I am making a few changes to reduce the effort needed to reef. For instance, mine came with relatively high friction blocks and I am changing to ball bearing blocks (Garhaurer, which you may alreay have because Catalina uses Garhaurer hardware). I am installing light weight ball bearing blocks at the reefing cringles in the mainsail, which I hope will further reduce reefing effort. I don't intend to replace the standard reefing line, however the Marlon spectra line is apparently much better than standard line for reducing reefing effort.
