Can anyone help me with sizing the outhaul for my 29.5? The line has been spliced with a knot by the PO and won't pass through the sheaves and allow me to reef. If I remove it to measure the length of the wire and rope, I'm afraid I won't be able to get it back through and I'll be grounded :(

I don't know the length, but why not tie a messenger line to it, remove it so the messenger is in the boom, then you can measure and replace - the messenger will let you insert the new line. I did my H23 (shorter boom, of course) using a simple fish tape to pull new lines, so that may work too.

MY OWNERS MANUAL SAYS 27 FEET OF 5/16TH for the outhaul. Reefing lines are 3/8
