I'm a new owner (May'06) of a Catalina30. It came with an extremely complicated reefing system which I'm attempting to simplify with reefing hooks. The problem is that I'm rookie enough to not even know where to start. Does Catalina sell such a thing specifically for a 30? Do they mount to the mast or the gooseneck? I've attached a picture of my gooseneck, and I'd appreciate any guidance as to where to start this project. Thanks!

Not sure but I suspect you are referring to a jiffy reefing setup which was pretty well standard on the Catalina 30. i don't quite understand your question nor see where the gooseneck would be involved. standard reefing on the catalina 30 is jiffy reefing which is quite simple and effective.
