I have a Hunter 310 with a 2GM20F and a KM2P Reduction Gear. The manual calls for replacing the oil in the Reduction with a 10W-30 grade CC oil. Can I use a 30 wt., grade CD Diesel oil?

Trans oil

Hi Ray: I am not an expert, but the CD classification should not hurt, and in Florida the 30wt is probably ok, but in colder climes, I would go with the 10W30. Good luck, Dave

Gear box oil

Yanmar recommends using "engine oil" in your gear box. I believe that the CC rating has been dropped from the API specs and that CD is getting the same treatment. Either would be good. The current engine recommendation is for 15W40, a newer blend for use in diesels.
