We have 26 year old stove on our 1976 30' Cherubini hunter 30. Rather than just replacing it with a new one, has anyone reworked their galley, or....?

Remodelling a galley.

Are you looking for suggestions on a replacement stove or a complete remodelling? Did you want to change over to propane? I assume your stove is original and is pressurized alcohol or kerosene. There is not much space for anything major. Were you also wanting to upgrade the refer and/or sink? One benefit of tearing it all out is that you can really insulate the new icebox. This is good for ice or refrigeration. If you want to add an oven then you are going to have to do a lot of cutting so you may as well take care of the refer. I'm too lazy so I bought a newer two-burner nonpressurized alcohol stove off of E-bay. There's a dorm refrig where the stove/oven(H37C) used to be and the two-burner sits on top of that. Propane on a Cherubini is really hard to do. Either the tanks have to be exposed on deck or you can do what Gene did on Rainbow Chaser - see Related Link. You can also see his galley remodelling there.

Stove Replacement

We removed the original stove and in the area where it used to reside, I made a rather large storage space. This area is about 1 foot deep and extends to the hull side( nearly 3 feet). In this area we store a two-burner propane camp stove, a one-burner electric, toaster, dishes, etc. This has made cooking much easier and increased our storage. This year I installed a microwave on the shelf behind where the stove was. I have taken the before photos, but still need to take some after photos. When I do I'll post them.
