Recoring 23 Partial Pop-Top With Foam or Other Synthetic?

Most centerboard boats, and fin keel boats, do pivot through a turn quickly. It's the full and partial keel boats that are more likely to stall.
My 192 is a ballasted stub keel boat, with centerboard. Even though it's not a fin keel, it behaves just like one while turning. In fact, I feel it handles much like my unballasted centerboard boats when it comes to maneuvering. Our club has "water wars" with water guns and such, and I have no problems sailing it solo in very close free-for-all quarters like this.

Thanks for the feedback. I used to teach sailing so I know that's true of many fin keel and centerboard boats. Also interesting to hear about your 192. Sailing solo in close quarters is the test indeed and that sounds like a fun way to do it. My other boat right now is a Mirage 5.5 (true swing keel) and it will almost spin on a dime. I don't expect that of the O'Day 23 but I'm still curious to hear about this from owners of the early 23s. Maybe the 23-2s have similar handling but I don't know.
