I am looking into replacing my dining room table as well, and as I have started to design the new one, I realize that what I want to do is redesign my sette so that it is U-shaped by building a seat on the starboard side between the two settes, and replacing the stock table with a very small table that will expand with leaves that hing up and into place. Two would sit on the port sette and four would sit in the original seating position in the dinette. Has anyone built/bought anything like this before? newer h31s

I believe the neweer versions of our boat (1986 and 1987) were changed to have a settee much like what you describe. Know anyone with a slightly newer h31 that you can take a peek at for ideas?

go to yachtworld

Do a search at www.yachtworld.com on H31's. You will see a number of interior shots, some of them have the u shaped settee in the later models.

U shaped sallon

The boat I'll be buying has the sallon set up the way you want. The existing table was cut in half, then hinged to open for use from the starboard side as well.A top piece was fit into the counter to add more space there too.I'll send pictures when I take possesion.
