Reconfiguring main sail halyard

Has anyone reconfigured the main sail Halyard so that one can lift the main cell from the cockpit area rather than standing on top of the cabin by the base of the mast? Boat type: Hunter 25 1983

Sure, just install a turning block at the base of the mast and perhaps a deck organizer and turn the halyard aft to a sheetstopper, cam cleat or in a boat your size a regular cleat would work, too. You'll need a longer halyard, of course.
