Recommended A/C and Heat brand

I have a Hunter 466 and am planning on installing a Reverse Cycle Air and Heat unit to the main cabin/forward cabin. I see units from both Marine Aire and Webasto and wondered if anyone had any recommendations on noice and reliability?

I am pretty sure I have Marine Air factory installed in my 2007 H-36 and have used the AC here in Florida with out a problem and have even used the reverse hear 1 or 2 times.
I would look for a unit that uses a stainless or maybe plastic bottom pan and that is the only thing that I wish I had in my unit,the bottom pan seems to create rust and the compressor on my unit is all rusted.
I think I have heard that they now use plastic or stainless to stop rust and make sure it has extra drain holes open.
And if in hot area you will need 2 big units for your size boat.

check out the ocean breeze unites they are good ones but not reverse cycle they have an electric heating element.......

I would contact Hunter and ask for any info they have that they have
for installing your unit.
I am pretty sure they will send you the wiring and what they did for installing the duct work and panel breakers and all hooked to shore power,you will need 2 new shore power plug in for each AC unit.
And Marine Air now uses stainless bottom pan and if and when I need to replace mine I would go with Marine Air.

This 82 footer that we've been getting ready to go has 19 A.C.'s in it at the best count.
Now THERE'S a nightmare.

(Amongst other things)..

Flag Ship Marine

I've used a Flag Ship Marine unit for 10 years with little trouble. Ours has electric heat. Sure is nice when you are on the hard. Nice that a compressor and water pump aren't needed for heat. The frame work and pan on this unit is stainless. http://flagshipmarine.com/

Serious Question: Why would anyone buy a high-dollar item like a marine heat pump, that typically requires install and warranty support from someone named "White Depot" on E-bay? The pricing seems no better than that being offered by any number of factory dealers, and the forum operates like some kind of street bazaar in the third world - no one in charge of quality assurance. I don't get it.
