My husband and I just bought a Hunter 31, and the refrigeration does not work. The previous owner used it as an ice box, but as liveaboards, it's not sufficient. Does anyone have a recommendation for a knowledgeable and reasonable compressor repairman?

Why do you think that it is the compressor? Many times it is just a matter of recharging the unit.
I suggest that you look for a refrigeration person that can diagnose your problem.
You should be able to find a technician in your area from the phone book or internet.

Ask others in your marina for recommendations. You will find out who is good and who charges reasonably.

What does it do/not do? If it is just low on freeon then we can probably walk you through it.

If you try to do this yourself, be sure that you have the proper equipment and the correct gas.
