Hi folks, finally found a motor! Oday 22 with 9.9HP 2-stroke Evinrude. It has a plastic prop on it now. Was wondering if anyone out here had a recommendation on an aluminum or SS prop? Or where to look? (I know that may sound like a silly question...some may say at a boat shop, or something like that...I was thinking more like specific brands and model numbers.) In other words...what are you running if you have a similar setup? Thanks in advance! Jack Hart PS...will be sailing in protected lakes as well as in the sounds of NC as well as sometimes just off the coast. Sometimes Stuart, FL which means to get in and out of St. Lucie Inlet you need all the thrust you can muster.

A prop's a prop

When you're talking about a prop for a small outboard for a small sailboat, you're not going to need anything special. A 9.9 hp motor will push the Oday 22 along at hull speed easy so you have plenty of power. A friend has a 9.9 hp on his 25' Catalina and it travels at hull speed when motoring. When you are sailing you will have the motor out of the water so you won't have any drag from it. Try Defender or Waste Marine but get an aluminum prop and keep your plastic one for a spare.
