anyone give one of these a shot?

seems like a good solution that doesn't involve drilling holes or running wires.

I use $2 lawn solar lights, they last 2 years and only need 2. What I do is tape a line to the top section then I can place them anywhere I want.

We just use two rechargeable solar garden lights like these. The spike in the end is plastic, and reverses to a stub which fits perfect into the top of a winch.

I use dollar store garden lights in a piece of pvc clamped to a stanchion. $69.00 is too high for me. Also, I hang a luci light under the bimini.

$70 bucks sounds rather steep for a clamp on light, there are many other options I am sure.

I received one as a gift 2 years ago. Bright white, lesser bright white, red, flashing. Can move it and mount is anywhere (mine is for 1" rails). Lasts for hours. I use it for a cockpit light when sailing at night. It is pricey, but I like it.

I have one too. Recharges via usb on boat. Also very handy as a work light most anywhere on the boat. Quite rugged.

The Mantus Snap-on rail light looks like a excellent alternative to the solar powered landscape accent lights mounted inside fishing pole holders I used previously.

It's kind of the difference between a dollar store flashlight and a good flashlight. The Matus light is also 5 times brighter (140 lumens vs 20-30 lumens). But patio lights are a hell of a value.

I can see where the option to turn on red light can be of value to preserve night vision, but there are less expensive options.
