My Adler/Barbour Coldmachine needs to have refrigerent added. My question is, how is the refrigerent added? Is it necessary to braze in a new scrader(sp) valve or is it added through the existing couplings? How do I insure that the couplings will not leak again?

RECHARGING

If the couplings are tightened properly, they should not be leaking. Depending on the age of the unit there may or may not be a shrader valve on the dome of the compressor. If there isn't one, it will be neccesary to braze one in.
