Hi all,
I'm looking for a compass. I had one, and it was nice, but it is no more. You see, it was one of those bulkhead compasses with the globe that sticks out. My mainsheet traveler is along the companionway. On summer eve, I gybed. Nothing crazy, but the mainsheet walloped my globe and cracked it open. I tried taking it apart to buy a new globe, but I just broke it even more. Oh well - it was ugly anyway! I like the location, and I like the idea of a dual reading card, but I don't want another nice compass blown to bit by the mainsheet. Has anyone tried mounting a compass of this sort more recessed than stock, so it doesnt stick out so far? or, altenrative placement ideas?

not much sticking out, doesn't get in the way of the mainsheet, and it's on sale! ;D Tim
