Hi there, I am rebedding our windows (side and large front one) due to leaks- poor job done by previous owner. I’ve removed them, sanded the surfaces and cleaned the windows. Wondering which sealant to use. I have a handful of Dow Corning (DowSil 795) bottles and wondering if anyone has experience with this? Primer necessary? Other product recommendations also welcome. Thanks in advance !

We used this on our hatches when replacing the lenses. We wiped down the aluminum with alcohol Before applying. It’s been about four years. So far, so good.

As long as the tubes are less than one year old, it should be good.

The screw holes in the middle of the window actually have screws in securing the glass to the middle of the deck- the lateral screw/fastener holes were filled with 3M

You’d have to be careful to go back with the same screw or same size replacement but be very careful not to over tighten. Dow 795 was and is the standard sealant used in the industry
