Hey everyone. Im staring a rebuild on a 1982 27' Catalina. Its my dad's old boat that he lived on for many years. He and i are bringing it outta the mothballs to be used by me as a home and toy in FL. Im new at all of this and its been a long time since he has dealt with buying sailing gear, lets face it some things have changed. Im just looking for ANY advice. Neat tricks, interior ideas, websites, anything that you catalina owners think would be relevant in my search. Im working in Alaska now so i dont plan on starting the project until late Sept. This will give me time to reasearch before i buy. Thanks for taking the time. Taylor

Buy some books and check the internet

Don Casey's This Old Boat is a good start. BoatUS and Sailnet, plus this website have great resources. Nigel Calder's Boatowners systems book is a great investment. Try the Catalina 27 website, as well as the C30, C34 and C36 'sites for very helful Catalina info. Your boat, your choices, your homework and research. All the best, FL will be a wee bit warmer, I daresay!
