We have 1991 Beneteau 390. I want to rebuild the insulation in the icebox. Currently we have the foam insulation blankets. What are the best insulation materials on the market and where to buy them? Is it better to have removable insulation (this is what we currently have) or glue it permanently inside the icebox? Thank you!

vacuum insulated panels are the best insulation available currently. Following them are aerogel based insulation.
Expensive
I don't disagree that the vacum panels and airogell are the best available. But are more than a little pricey. Have also read a couple of complaints about the vacum panels from Glacier Bay. I'm going to add three inches of the hard foam insulation from HD or Lowes, to the inside of my box. Has two inches now, and another three should be sufficient. These are about 20 bucks for a 4' x 8' x 1" panel. If you pocket book is flush, then go for the vacum panels, but if money is a consideration, try the foam panels.

But, that was a bit too pricey for me. I got my door, hinges and strike there but that was all. Oh wait... gasket material for the old hatch came from R-Parts too. They also have a good tech forum over there.
I used blue foam panels from the hardware store to add insulation to an older box. The old box proved not to have all that much insulation to start with. I glued in the foam and then glued in with some fiberglass tub surround material and it worked out very well.
