I need to rebuild or replace my Perkins 4.154 in my `79 Outisland 41. It looks like about $7K to rebuild. I am considering switching to a new engine and am looking for recomendations on makes and models. Has anyone done this recently? Thanks,

Jasper doesn't sell perkins marine
I call them and they don't sell Perkins marine. $7k seemed a bit high to me, but they claimed the 4.154 is an old engine and it is hard to find parts. Any other recommendations for remanufactured engines?
