Rebedding Jib Track on O'day 28

Trying to rebed my jib track. Removed 31 bolts with nuts but 1 is hidden away under a bulkhead which forms the left side of the chart table on the starboard side of the boat. Have removed all screws for the bulkhead and have cut bulkhead loose from hull but will not budge although it is loose.

Any ideas?

Hello Steve,
We did that rebedding project on three different boats over the years. There is always at least one bolt that is very difficult to reach. :cussing:Removing that bulkhead section is a good idea.
(1) Are there any screws into the wood or into the fiberglas in the lower cabinet area? Look through any access in the bunk areas (you may need a mirror to see the spot you need to see) as well as look into the cabinet base. Slide a thin blade like a hacksaw blade between the cabinet and the fiberglas. You might feel a fastener and then you might be able to cut it. (2) Is the base of the cabinet tabbed to the fiberglas? The bulkhead surely is tabbed. (3) Is the cabinet/bulkhead removal necessary to remove a sailtrack bolt? Maybe you could notch the bulkhead a bit in the area of the remaining bolt if that is the problem. (4) Maybe the bulkhead is held to the radio cabinet by screws also.

Phil,

Removed all screws I could see and cut fiberglass where bulkhead was bounded to hull. Thinking about cutting below bulkhead now just to get at screws.

Notched the bulkhead where it meets the deck and found the screw. Would you believe there was no nut on it but it was down into the bulkhead which was why I couldnt pull the bulkhead out. What fun!
