When going INSIDE, I do this trip in 5-6 weeks. If you do this during the late fall or early spring, then count on equinoctal gales every 4-5 days that will 'hold' you ... and lengthen your trip by another 10-14 days.
Better to do short hops outside if you can catch the tail end of a NWer.

As others have stated you dont want to be shooting inlets at dusk or dawn, even the class A inlets in SC and GA due to the large (9ft.) tides and swift current flows between the tides.

If you're going 'inside', its really better NOT to rush but follow the wave of the high tide so you can carry across all the shallows in NC, SC and GA. The low country and its wilderness is stunningly stark & beautiful; take some time to enjoy it. If you 'rush' the low country you will surely be aground and far from a 'tow'.
