Wanted to test out my cell phone amplifier and 3G. Took this picture about 6 minutes ago. came back stuck the card in the laptop, ran it through Picasa and uploaded it...

We're making some appetizers, drinking some wine (thanks Tim & Kathy) and our daughter is watching a movie on the iPad via Netflix. Just watched an Eagle eye balling our Dachshunds while walking them on the island and a seal poked his head up just as I was taking a sip of wine.

We should have enough ice left over for tomorrows iced coffee....:D


Here & Now... As real time as it gets on the coast of Maine...

Sometimes I like to get into the coves a little tight.. This is about 6" between our rudder and the bottom of Jewell Island Cove. I did shorten the scope by about 20' and gained another 18" of depth under the rudder...




More real time... You guys just missed a great Maine spring time sunset. Great clouds...





Oh and to rub it in a little more I am sitting in the cockpit with the laptop in my lap, the camera next to me on one side and a glass of wine in the other and I can hear my daughter singing a song with some sing along iPad app..... Oh and the smells of my wifes cooking wafting up from below don't hurt either....;);););)

No mom likes to cook but I did make the coffee and bring it to her in bed and pre-heated the cabin..

We have a Wilson system and all in I suspect it was around $500.00 with the LMR cable, marine antenna and amplifier. It often makes the difference between 1X and 3G. Without it on right now we're getting spotty 1X and with it on we maintain 3G and have full bars..

We did some island hiking today....



This is why our daughter thinks it is called Jewell Island....



The sail here was GREAT and the smile tells all!!!!

Great photos. I think I see the cell phone Kathy lost overboard there a couple years ago.

Is the underwater one through a glass bottom bucket?

Rub it in......that is okay.

A week from Tuesday I am leaving out of my slip. I will be in the Chesapeake Bay for two weeks! I will be hitting St. Michaels and Annapolis :dance:

Add to this that I will be doing a little flyfishing along the way for striped bass with my eight weight flyrod.

And.....look what I caught the other day kayaking in the Occoquan :eek:

Beautiful Maine,

One thing that got me thinking was about the eagle eyeing your dachsunds, by the way he's cute. I live on the Susquhanna river in up state NY, there is a nesting pair about 1/2 mile down stream and another pair about a mile upstream. We often see them catching fish, and now and then a duck. We have a, dapple gray & black, dachshund and leave him out to run in the yard, never gave it a thought about the eagles, will have to pay more attention.

The one on the left is a Dachsund and the one on the right is a Weimaraner? They look the same to me but what do I know about fish?
