I probably asked this before but I'm looking for a real-time wind prediction technology that can be used offshore on my Mac.

Comments?

It depends. How far offshore and how much do you have to spend. Also depends on what you mean by real time. Sorry to be obtuse, but, if you have the money I am sure there are ways to use satcom capabilities to plug into the net then you've got the same access as "on shore". However, an old standby technique of offshore weather is to use radiofax, see http://weather.noaa.gov/fax/marine.shtml. Even that is only good a certain distance from U.S. transmitters. There are other international broadcasts.

Everybody want real tiem wind predictions. which is why I believe you have to pay for the service.
Course you can't sail in predicted winds so they are pretty useless for actually sailing from point A to point B.
I'd spend my money on learning how to handle sails so it does not matter what the wind is so you can always get from point A to point B.
