Anyway, its early AM in Florida and the weather is so so, the boat is ready and the motor is not. I am ready to oar the boat out to sea. So I get the new 6 ply tires for the trailer and while jacking the trailer up my axle iron starts crunching. High tide is 9:35 AM. I am two blocks from a small lake and 6 miles to the gulf.Prudence dictates I take it to the lake and get the trailer welded if I can. I hate this plan, I would rather chance the 6 miles to the gulf and if I get stuck on the gulf while the trailer is fixed. Even if I wouldn't have a motor. Anyone have any words of wisdom or suggestions to me and other sailors that will lose their motors at some time this year. I am calling a welder this morning before I move the boat and hope he comes out and welds some iron to re inforce. The spot is just 6 inches from the u bolts. I know you people up north aren't feeling sorry for me if I have to wait a few more days inasmuch as I have ben readingthe posts waiting for spring. Bring it on. Regards Bud
