Curious; do any of you also have a problem reading newsprint (in particular) when using LED lighting? We have had LED for about a dozen years and are very satisfied for the large part. But I have a lot of difficulty reading newsprint (Latitude 38 for left coast folks). I just turn on the halogen chart table light so no issue, but curious as to this being a common issue or not.

if its the wrong color light I have a tough time also.... if your lights are 10-12yrs old, they probably are the wrong color.... wrong color usually equates to wrong wavelength.... try reading anything close to an unterviolet/black light and you will see the problem immediately. the closer you get to the light, the worse the problem is.

the "warm" or "soft" light in the 2700K to 3000K rating is the most comfortable and relaxing on the eyes, and will allow them to focus to their best ability in a normal setting.... the early LED lighting (and much of the cheaper current LED's) was/is a much harder/cool light that was hard on the eyes for long term use...

a proper living space LED will not have any noticeable difference than its incandescent counterpart...

i used an incandescent light bulb when turning wood on the lathe to create the shadow effect so i could see when the piece i was turning was out of round ...fluorescent,led and the like would not give me the shadow

None, in fact the marinebeam bright white LED is my go-to light where I need near-daylight spectrum for reading or lighting equipment bays.
