Re: Plastic curtain rod holders

There are several sources for these long sought after items, and they are all in Scandinavia. They can be viewed bz clicking on www.nautisk.dk and then typing GARDINSTANG in the SOG (search window), once the picture pops up click on the picture for an enlargement. Unfortunately none of the websites are in English, which makes ordering a little difficult, but by no means impossible. The cost of each holder is 9 Danish krones, which at the present rate of exchange comes to about $1.18. I have tried several times, unsucessfully, to order them with Visa and Mastercards. I received a message this morning from one of their dealers instructing me to deposit the money in a Danish Bank crediting their store and they will forward them to me. I went ahead and ordered 10 holders for a total cost of 90 DKK , which comes to about $12.26 plus shipping and handling charges of 50 DKK or about $6.85 for a total of $19.07. If anyone is interested, I can try and walk you through the ordering sequence (it is in Danish), in which case you will have to have your bank deposit the money in their account, or I am willing to place the orders and then ship to you for cost PLUS postage to the states (I reside in Germany). German postage for a first class letter to the states costs about $1.50, so I would venture to guess anywhere between 5 and 10 dollars depending on what they weight. Or maybe a gross purchase, and send them to Steve, and let him distribute them heh heh. I am open to suggestions. The larger the order the less the shipping costs from Denmark to me (I assume). I recently replaced the hatch boards and surrounds in my VEGA with the
replacement kit from Steve Birch. I kept the left over pieces of teak
because I knew that I would find a use for them. I cut 12 pieces of Teak
and screwed the Brass curtain rod holder things on each piece. I removed
the white plastic curtain rod holders that were in my Vega. I am planning
on epoxying the teak curtain rod holder this weekend. I also purchased 2
new curtain rods for this project. I have replaced the foam cushions in my
Vega recently and had new covers made. I am using the same left over
material for my curtains which should be ready today or tomorrow. Anyway
this weekend I am hanging new curtains and going sailing.

Hello Frank

I tried to e-mail you about the rods some time ago, but was unsuccessful.
If you or someone else wouldf ind out how many curtain rods you need over there, just let me know. I will then buy them and send them to you for distribution and then settle the payment later on.
Happy to hear from you again.

Hi! I would like 6 of those plastic holders that hold up the rods. I've
just put in new cushions and will be putting up new neutral colored curtains.
I haven't really broken any of these but one was missing and they appear
brittle. So I'd rather have a few in case they don't go back together
without incidence. Vega - 3227 "Salt"
