My deck port lights in the ceiling are leaking, what is the best sealant to use when re-bedding the glass.

I assume this is on the outside of the boat as things on the inside should NOT be sealed as it would trap water. I would recommend Bed-IT butyl tape followed by 3M 4000UV. 4200 will deteriorate in the sun. I put some 4200 on some wiring on my transom. It lasted three seasons in the Midwestern sun. Boat is stored indoors during the winter
