Thanks all for the good advice, guides to appropriate rituals and the tip
on running aground. I have run aground on a shifting sandbar here on the
St. Croix. As I was puzzling on how exactly to get off it - didn't really
care to turn the Yanmar over - a light bulb went off regarding the depth the
boat draws so I humbly jumped overboard and rocked her off. Thankfully, I
had installed the swim ladder the year before.
