Hi Tom, Yes, you can raise and lower the mast by yourself, with a special
Mast boot and tabernacle. I have made one for my boat and it works slick as
it uses the center and rear shroud lines to guide the mast up and down. The
mast must travel in a arc for two reasons first, the shroud lines are on a
different plane, and second you must clear the main cabin roof when it comes
down into a crutch on the rear of the boat. I will try to send a drawing of
it on this note.[Unable to display image]

Sorry Tom, cannot insert a drawing of the tabernacle and mast boot, I tried
sending it as a Jpeg and a Tiff neither works. Will try once more to send as
an attachment. Walt S.

Hi Tom, In the attachment for the mast raising tabernacle, the spec from the
center of the deck hole to the center of the pivot pin is 8 1/2 inches. Not
the 9 1/2 inches on the drawing. That is the most critical measurement, as
the center top shrouds guide it first and then the rear shrouds take over
halfway through the mast lowering. These shrouds need to be loosened till
they are just slack slightly. Sorry about the mistake on the drawing. Walt.
