Re: [AlbinVega] (charging of batteries)

Dear Vega friends,

Its winter in Holland and my Vega is moored in her
box. The only thing I have to do is to load the batteries now and
then.

My question is: Could I connect the two batteries
parallel during this process temporarily?
This would means that I donot have to chagre one
battery after the other but 2 at the same time.

Does anybody know?

Thanks for your help.

Henk:

Yes, you may charge two - or more - batteries in parallel if your charging
equipment will handle it, AND if both batteries are of the same capacity.
Once charged, however, be sure to separate them, electrically. The reason
for this is that if one of them has an internal short, however small, it will
eventually discharge both of them.

Dear Ed,

I am most grateful for your answer.
The conclusion is that I must load the batteries
separately , because the starter battery has a much lower capacity that
the 'light' battery.

My Vage is morred only 3 miles from my home,. so I can
go there today even on cross country skis.

Alas , only today , tomorrow we ahve again
abnomral wamr weather says the dutch weather bureau.
