Yes, I converted the forward locker (Forepeak) into a chain locker by
putting a hose pipe fitting on the deck, and then putting brackets on the
pullput. I also put a wood door on the small bulkhead in the forepeak.
I works like a champ, and looks good too!!!!!! And is also very
practical.

I have had two Vega's, # 321, 1968 vintage, and # 1786, 1973 vintage, which I
still have. Both use the chain locker, and were outfitted that way when I
bought them.
A word of advice: Don't fail to provide some kind of stopper on end of the
line in the chain locker. It can be embarasing as well as expensive to watch
your anchor rode disappear into the deep because it wasn't "Stopped" .......

Dear Mort,
I have no chian locker on my Vega V 1682 for the simple reason that in
Holland we moor in yachting harbours and you you anchors only when you go
the the Wadden Zee.
