How does one remove this black oxidized material that keeps "reappearing". I store it outside up side down. This blackish material appears on the surface getting on all the clothes.

Try cleaning it first.

Alan: Don't wear any clothes<g>! Try cleaning it with Island Girl pink first. Then use a sealer on it that is made for Hypalon.

What is the name of that sealer?....

And yes I did try to clean it first,but it always came back. So I'm thinkin' sealer also.

Try one of the West Marine/BoatUS products.

Alan: West Marine and BoatUS both carry products to clean and seal hypalon.

Use Silkenseal to Seal

Achiles are great boats but all hypalon is porous to stains etc. That is why you seal the surface. Silkenseal forms a "plastic skin" surface that stops this. ALthough IG pInk is a great all round cleaner if you use SEA GLOW (on a bright colored, grey or black boat) there is also UV p;rotection, brighter colors, protectiona against oxidation AND mildew.algae. Sorry I did not notice enquiries down here rather than in the gelcoat and plastics section Thanks Jim Willis PS my Tinker still looks great after 7 years on the davist inthe tropics kept up with these products.
