I'm thinking of buying the ST40's Depth,Speed and Wind units. I can get all 3 for 608.00 at Sailnet with free shipping. Price seems the best I have found so far. I would love to get your input of these units. I will be installing them on a new 2002 H260. Thank you! BLUE SKIES AND HIGH TIDES, RB

ST40's

Seems like a good deal. I presume that includes the transducers. Should work good for that boat. Dan Jonas (S/V Feije II)

RayMarine ST-40

I purchased ST-40 instruments and installed them last year. We bought the individual units so that if one was "down" they all would not be down. The ST-40 wind instrument is a rail (pulpit) mounted unit NOT a mast mounted unit. It worked OK but it was not very convenient having the location so close to the cockpit. If I had it to do over I would get the ST-60 system as a minimum so the wind unit could be mast mounted and out of the way. Jay Tracy C9.6 # 129 "Job Site"

ST-40 Wind at Masthead

Two years ago, I mounted my ST-40 Wind at the masthead of my H-28. It mounted easily there and has performed well ever since. The mount that comes with it makes it convenient to mount on a rail but that doesn't mean that is the only place it can mount. It is "safer" at the masthead than on the stern rail -notwithstanding encounters with tree branches etc! The size of the ST-40 readout allowed the mounting of the Wind and Bi-Data readouts in one pedestal mounted pod.

THANKS guys.....need more help!

If I'm undertsanding this correct ST40 is a PULIT MOUNT! I did not know that. I was planning to have it mount at the mast head! It's so much fun being new to this(lol). I just checked Sailnet - it does come with 66 ft of cable. That should be plenty for a H260. Will I have to buy a special bracket ot put it on the meast head? Thank you all again...RB
