I don't have access to the article at the moment as I am working overseas but Practical Sailor just did an article on upgrading electronics which discussed the ST70 System. It would be worth your effort to find a copy if possible. I believe the article was favourable. I have the ST60 so wasn't too interested in the piece. Regards Chris

Hello Paul We are coming into the rainy season. Temperatures offshore around 30ºC. Winds are still S'ly about 15 to 20 knots, sea about 1-2 metres - fine sailing weather. Some thunderstorm activity now and then. Better than last month,... the Harmattan a dry West African trade wind was blowing. The winds pick up very fine dust from the Sahara and carrys it into the Gulf of Guinea. It leaves a very very fine dust everywhere. On decks, in filters, in your eyes, nose and mouth. Helicopters and fixed wing usually grounded for days on end. Similar to Canada in the winter! Regards Chris

Hello Jim, I have tried to access the Practical Sailor site but am unable. I think my subscription ran out last month. I have renewed and will likely be able to let you know what the article says sometime later in the week or two. I have ST 70
Wind, speed and depth instruments with a C-80 Chartplotter and ST 8002 Autohelm. I had a problem with the ST 70 wind head that caused the display to go blank and sent it back to Raymarine after it was out of warranty. They sent me a new head, no charge. That may be only cause I just purchased the C-80 and Autohelm system though, I'm not sure. I like the entire package, and with the C-80, I truly recognize the beauty of the Sea-Talk system, it is sweet.
