Raymarine ST60 Wind Instrumrnt

I have a Raymarine ST60 Wind Instrument. The unit is only 2 years old. When I turn the instrument on the display will show the speed of wind and direction. After a few minutes the wind speed display will only show 3 dashes and the wind indicator will be in the up position. Any help would be appreciated.

Would that be an issue with the mast top wind vane? Is it possible that the cable connection has loosened up?

Check the connection behind the display and the bottom of the mast first. The connection at the masthead usually pretty good. It's soldered to a 5 pin plug.
