Does anyone know what is the procedure for removing the through-hull speed paddle (for cleaning) while the boat is in the water?

Procedure

It is very easy!!.. Just unscrew the top ring. Then pull out the plug. When the plug is out a flap closes and slowes down the water flow. If your nervous about the water flow just put in the blank plug. I have never put in the blank.... Then I take a toothbrush and scrub the paddle. Takes about 1 minute. then put the paddle plug back in and screw on the ring. That easy and that fast!!! Really cool design.

Paddle for when I'm up the proverbial creek . . .

Joe, that should have been speed not depth. And Tom, thanks for the info. Now I have the courage to pull the plug. I was mostly worried about how fast the water comes in.

Heh, heh, sorry Rip... I couldn't resist..

... a little water will come in, but if you're ready with the replacement there shouldn't be too much.
